Public bug reported:
If I start up my computer (which has an ATI FireGL v5200) with external
displays attached, the virtual terminals show up on crt1. If I start up
the computer without external displays, they show up on lvds. If I
subsequently connect or disconnect those displays, I suddenly lose the
ability to see anything other than X sessions, no matter what I do with
aticonfig --enable-monitor. Virtual terminals should follow the X
sessions.
I am using fglrx on Hardy with all the updates.
