Public bug reported:
1. go to virtual terminal 2 (VT-2) text mode
2. /etc/init.d/kdm stop (probably also works with gdm)
3. back to VT-2
4. /etc/init.d/kdm start
5. go to VT-7 if needed - to the X
and then:
- X stops working
- keyboard stops working (capslock, but you sometimes can input commands
normally, and sys-rq- seem to work always)
- blank screen often
- sometimes random characters in textmode
** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)

Status: New

restarting X (restarting kdm in example) and going back to VT then back to X
causes X failure (nvidia, glx-new)
