I also use the Bug Report Tool, or BRT, found in: Applications> Programming> Bug Report Tool. I am also getting the "Either --appname or --package arguments are required" error when I click on the BRT. I think this is still an issue, and needs to be repaired. Here is the path to getting to this error: Ubuntu Release 8.04(hardy) Kernel Linux 2.6.24-16-generic GNOME 2.22.1 1) Go to system> Preferences > Main Menu 2) In the Main Menu options navigate to Programming, and click the Bug Report Tool.
