Yes I have the same problem here as I'm trying to get the beta drivers installed from NVIDIA for my 9600GT.
"sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-new --remove" simply returns that it is the latest package and will not be removed. I did try to use EnvyNG to uninstall the NVIDIA driver which it said was successful but nvidia-glx-new is still installed, and trying to install the old driver fails due to the inability to remove the current driver I am going to reinstall Hardy Heron x86_64 and start over from there and I will post to inform if that can at least get us out of the nvidia-glx- new situation PS: I am new to Linux so any posts upcoming please be very explanatory :-) THANKS! -Mark -- package nvidia-glx-new 169.12+2.6.24.12-16.34 failed to uninstall https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227742 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
