Steps:
1. Undock the laptop from the docking station (do not press the undock button,
this would cause a system reboot when docked back.)
2. When docking it back, the external keyboard and mouse attached to the laptop
do not function.
A re-attach of the USB keyboard/mouse also does not help, until the
system restarts.
