Hi. With a ThinkPad X61 Tablet, I encounter the same issue: no sound and no
error (logged or while playing music in any software). The only logged message
I get about hda is in dmesg:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dmesg | grep hda

The weird thing is, I had sound working for a moment. It seems it
vanished after I enabled the wifi. I tried several things:
enable/disable modem in BIOS, alsa recompilation (messy), rt kernel,
added options snd-hda-intel model=thinkpad in alsa-base.
