Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gvfs

On the server I connect to through SSH, there is a directory owned by
root and a special group, chmodded 770, to prevent users not part of the
group from accessing the data. My user account on the server is part of
this group, and therefore has full access to the contents of this
directory.

In Nautilus, I'm fully capable of reading the contents of this directory
(meaning it must be noting the g+r permission) but it refuses to copy
anything into this path, as I was capable of doing before in Ubuntu
7.10.

My guess is that since the code already demonstrates the capability of
getting the correct group read permissions, the fix should be adding a
few extra lines to the code that determines write permission support.

** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
