Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
I use the font Casablanca Antique and the German umlauts (mainly the "ö") only
erratically work, even though they are definitely part of the *.ttf. Instead
the "ö" is displayed as a ^. Sometimes it helps to remove the font from the
font installer and then reinstall it, but most often it doesn't. It seems to
help if I open an empty document and type the "ö" in Casablanca Antique and
only then open a pre-existing document in that font, but I have also had cases
where I got the "ö" to work - only to have other symbols like "é" displayed
incorrectly (as "É") or the bold print displayed as a mixture of bold and bold
italic characters (which couldn't be fixed by switching to italic and back).
I use Ubuntu 8.04 and openoffice 2.4.
