Public bug reported:

Since 8.04, my Notebook cannot resume from Standby anymore. In 7.04, it
worked out of the box without any problems. I never used 7.10, so I
don't know if it worked there or not.

Going into standby seems to work, but after waking up the notebook,
there is only a click-sound from the harddrive and then nothing... the
screen remains black, and I have to switch the computer off. Of course,
I tried to change the console, numlock, all key combinations I know...
but there is no reaction.

I attached the dmesg which was recorded right after rebooting the System
by force.

It is an ASUS M67N Notebook, about 4 years old.
