Here's what my local X authority file looks like after merging:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo xauth list
rune/unix:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 1cbe2a4d22c1702075a3a66983525a9c
localhost.localdomain/unix:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1
1cbe2a4d22c1702075a3a66983525a9c
remotecomputer/unix:1 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 a2690f906c2feed9af9919bf868fb01a
remotecomputer:1 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 a2690f906c2feed9af9919bf868fb01a
remotecomputer/unix:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 9a0c862165cd95f4082156ac540dccce
