Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: audacity

Hallo I have problems with Audacity. My system:

1) Ubuntu 8.04 - the Hardy Heron
2) Audacity 1.3.4-1.1ubuntu1

3) I have two Problems:

*1
I want to open the Settings of Audacity. With the Audacity-version of Ubuntu
7.1 I need only some seconds for that but with Ubuntu 8.04 and Audacity 1.3.4
beta I need 30 Seconds or more. But the settings will open (if I wait long
enough). When I finished my work in the setting menu I want to confirm and
close the setting menu. But this needs again 30 seconds up to one minute.

*2
This is the bigger problem!
I can't record the the stereo mix channel from my soundcard! With the Audacity
of Ubuntu 7.1 I always choosed the "ALSA:default" as input device to capture
the sound. With Audacity 1.3.4 and Ubuntu 8.04 I can't record sound from any
input device! If I press the record-button in the main window I get the message
that the input device can't open and the settings are maybe wrong.
I have tested all input devices that Audacity had. Always the same result.

best regards
Marf
