Public bug reported:

Just installed frew Ubuntu 8.04 on my server. I used the desktop 386
release. Printer is install (Deskjet D2445) and works locally. Clicked
share printer in the printing applet. I can connect to it fine and use
it fine from another Ubuntu 8.04 machine. But, I cannot connect and use
from 2 windows machines on the network. I use
http://192.168.1.102:631/printers/Deskjet_D2400_series as the URL. The
windows machines then ask for driver, I select driver and then nothing
happens. It just hangs up will not allow connection at all.

I have used this printer/method for over a year on previous
Debian/Fedora/Ubuntu versions.

Something seems amiss with CUPS.
