I repeat: It is unreproducible. I cannot reproduce it on my system, even
not with a newly created user.

Maybe you have misconfigured something or you have touched files or you
stumbled over a regression of the GNOME desktop update or ... give me a
crystal ball and I will tell you. You don't give any information that
might be useful, including:

- if there are custom .desktop files
- if your are observing the issue on a newly created user or
- if you observed it after updating parts of the system or the whole system 
(dpkg log might help)
- which library versions of the the necessary libraries are installed
...

But "me too" comments probably help a lot more than providing such
information. For sure.
