This is a bug in ucf, which does not correctly handle config file diffs
that are whitespace-only. However, I'm dropping the proposed
ubuntu-8.04.1 milestone here because this does not affect users with
unmodified grub menu.lst files and can be worked around by rerunning
update-manager and not choosing the 'view diff' option.
