Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

F-spot doesn't start. When run in the terminal it gives the attached
output.

Further information: Using ubuntu 8.04 and f-spot 0.4.2-1ubuntu3

I've tried to purge f-spot and installed it again to no avail. Also
restarted computer. When I used another user account f-spot worked, I
logged out and signed into the original account. Then f-spot worked. I
closed f-spot started it again and then it wouldn't work once again.

I will try to provide more information if I can.
