I need help getting desktop-base working. Everything else works fine.
Video, usplash, detailed textual start-up, and gdm-themes I just
uninstalled. Please help me!
** Changed in: ubuntu
Status: Incomplete => New
** Description changed:
I am trying re-install usplash, desktop-base, and gdm, and I get this
error:
E: desktop-base: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit
status 1 E: gdm-themes: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
My main goal is to get full details of my operating system booting up. I
would like to see everything during my boot-up but I still just get a
simple graphical bar.
What happened instead is when I am trying to re-install usplash (because
somehow it was partially configured / installed I don't really know) to
get detailed text status of my computer, Synaptic and the terminal both
tell me
"E: desktop-base: subprocess post-installation script returned error
exit status 1 E: gdm-themes: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured"
Whatever that means.
