The reason is the /.hidden file (actually a link to /etc/kubuntu-
default-settings/hidden-root) which contains among others 'mnt', which
is thus hidden in KDE's file/dir dialogs. The standard KDE file dialog
has the option to show hidden files, but amarok's collection dialog
doesn't have this option. The same issue can be found in other apps like
for example k3b which also has no option to show hidden files in it's
directory tree pane.
A work-a-around is to remove the 'mnt' line from /etc/kubuntu-default-
settings/hidden-root. Ideally all file/dir views/dialogs in all KDE apps
would allow to show hidden files.
