Thank you for your confirmation! At least this bug is now well known so
developers can take a look at this and easily reproduce and work on it.
I can't fix this actually because I am not a developer (sorry). At
least, you can now enjoy a full working usplash without any side
effects. You said that the boot time of your PC reduced, can you put a
comment about this in bug 126433 ? I think that the overall normal boot
time for ubuntu is around 40-50 seconds.
