Public bug reported:
When I resume my Compaq C757EA laptop from hibernation, if the core
temperature sensor is below about 43 degrees Celsius, it simply reports
back as 0 degrees and stays that way. Of course, this means that ACPI
never turns the fan on because the system is apparently freezing. I can
then watch on the two motherboard temperature sensors as the temperature
rises to about 80 degrees, which is when the BIOS kicks in and turns the
fan on for short blasts itself. If I hibernate and resume the laptop
again once it has risen above about 43 degrees, the sensor and fan both
work fine.
I've had this problem for as long as I've been using hibernate in Ubuntu
on this laptop, and it occurs no matter what program I use to hibernate.
I've tried fixing the DSDT to no avail as well. If anyone had any more
ideas I'd be grateful.
