I can reproduce this bug using fresh install Hardy Heron with latest updates. gnome-applets 2.22.1-0ubuntu2 gnome-panel 1:2.22.1.3-0ubuntu1
Steps to reproduce: 1. Login in gdm to your account 2. Logout 3. Login to the same account Result: missing trash applet icon There is no crashes, no errors. The trash applet process is running. If I login to an other account, the trash icon is present.
