Please do not abuse already fixed bugs to report new problems; open a new bug report for those instead.
If hal does not start up for you, please do the following steps and report the results in a new bug report: * Upgrade to the latest Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) packages. * Reboot your machine, to get back to a clean state. You tried to start hal twice (once with daemonizing, once in the foreground), and it rightfully complained. After a clean boot, is hal running? * If it is not running, please do the steps on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingHal and attach the logs. * If it is running, it seems to be a temporary problem with the package installation. Please describe what you did before you encountered that problem. ** Changed in: hal (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Fix Released Target: ubuntu-8.04.1 => None ** Summary changed: - hal doesn't install + hal doesn't install: /var/run/hald is missing -- hal doesn't install: /var/run/hald is missing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/206787 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
