I can confirm that the delay aspect of this drawer bug still is affecting Hardy Heron. I have Normal Visual Effects checked (compiz- fusion) under the Appearance Preferences. when I click on a drawer applet that I have added to the gnome-panel, there is a slight pause before the drawer extends and then a slight pause before all the icons are painted into the open drawer.
This behavior DOES NOT happen with the gnome-menus (Applications, Places, System). They appear near instantaneously.
