Marcel, You confirmed what I thought. This is not a 0.05 pt black
border, it is simply a delimiter for the image, something which you can
only see when an image has transparency on it's edges. I have tried
printing and I'm not able to see the border in the printed or PDF
exported version. I have tried adding a white layer to the images and as
you can see in the file attached, there is no border around the image
with the white background.

My issue is not with the Printed/PDF version, but the presentation of
the document when it is distributed it as an OOo file. I would have
expected for there to be no borders on images with transparency (by
default) and then, you would have to go to "Object Boundaries"
properties to change it to grey, but that's just an issue I have with
some of OOo's intuitive usability challenges. You may do what you wish
with the bug, now that I understand what has been happening, this bug
has become a low priority feature request.
