Public bug reported:
on kernel 2.6.24-16-generic (standard with clean installatio on ubuntu 8.04)
after the grub screen, during the loading of kernel and system, the cpu
temperature and fan go up to 100% of their values.
This, continue during al system activitie, never stop!
The system is not slow, the cpu DO NOT work at 100%, but his temperature is at
max value and fan sped is at 100%.
I've manually compiled kernel vanilla 2.6.22-19 and all work fine !!!!!
no problem with this...
If i start kernel 2.6.24-26-generic with the option "acpi=off" the
problem does not appear and all work fine like kernel 2.6.22-19
(obviously the notebook does not power off etc etc)
I've tried this command to test the system:
