I have just installed the sear package using Synaptic Package Manager.
This automatically also installed sear-media. No error messages were
displayed during the installation. On starting Sear from the
Applications > Games menu, I am able to log in successfully. I can see
that I am in a 3D environment, as objects are defined by white
wireframes and the perspective changes when I press the cursor keys. The
problem is that all texture images are missing, and the same placeholder
graphic (the word "Sear" in black on a white background) appears in
their place. If I start sear from a terminal, I get the following:

Presumably the ${SEAR_MEDIA} variable has not been set correctly, or the
media files have been installed to the wrong directory. Please help!
