I believe I have the same problem... I previously used to just type
"javaws" into the terminal to open up Java Web Start, so I could then
select from the applications I have installed; now it opens a
certificates window. When I try to type "javaws
http://files.gokgs.com/javaBin/cgoban/jnlp"; (as per instructions at
gokgs.com, which have worked on every other system I have tried it on),
I get an error message:

netx: Launch Error: Could not launch JNLP file.
(java.lang.NullPointerException null)

I don't know what netx is, or why it's trying to take over this
operation...

Help is greatly appreciated.
