I find that the current Gutsty rhythmbox fails in the way "who_cares"
describes above, but it does work (with a complaint) with the "-n"
option. Like this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] Downloads $ rhythmbox --version
GNOME rhythmbox 0.11.5

[EMAIL PROTECTED] Downloads $ rhythmbox
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Downloads $ #nothing happened

[EMAIL PROTECTED] Downloads $ rhythmbox -d

[EMAIL PROTECTED] Downloads $ #nothing happened

[EMAIL PROTECTED] Downloads $ rhythmbox -n

[1]+ Stopped rhythmbox -n
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Downloads $ #rhythmbox ran correctly
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Downloads $ fg
rhythmbox -n
