I have had this behavior as well, but with specific mp3s, not all of them. No matter how many times I would retag a certain one, it would always revert after a second or two. I restarted rhythmbox, and the computer itself, but nothing worked.
James, would you mind clarifying if this happens with ALL tagging, just specific formats, or just certain ones? If it isn't all of them, then I think the title is deceptive.
