I had installed Kubuntu Hardy earlier, had problems with my screen
resolution (I couldn't set the resolution to 1240x1024), and fixed it
with EnvyNG (QT).
For reasons I don't want to get into, I reinstalled Ubuntu Hardy, had
the same graphics problem, couldn't fix it with anything, including
EnvyNG (GTK). So... I reinstalled Kubuntu Hardy, thinking that Envy
would solve the problem yet again. Instead I'm getting the same error
message:
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/apt/__init__.py:18: FutureWarning: apt API not
stable yet
warnings.warn("apt API not stable yet", FutureWarning)
Just in case it means anything... I started Envy by konsole, and when I shut
down Envy, the konsole displayed this:
Driver ATI is selected
TESTING CONNECTION
OK: Connection is available
Driver NVIDIA is selected
latest driver
Manual enabled
middle driver
Applybutton clicked
Selected action is manual
Selected driver is NVIDIA
Selected flavour is middle
Save packages is 0
Build only is 0
python pulse.py nvidia middle
I thought this was odd, because of the ATI business at the beginning. Anyways,
here's my xorg.conf:

Here's my card specs:

I have installed the 1.96.43.05 version of the nvidia driver, and I'm
running the latest kernel: 2.6.24-17-generic.
I just want to set my screen res to 1280x1024. Thanks in advance.
