Second the motion, vegastrike is a major OSS game and the world of
vegastrike has moved on to 0.5.0. (I'm working on updating SVN so that I
can do an up-to-date build right now. I could probably spit out packages
for hardy... if I ever get the repo checked out.) Binary packages
already exist which should run on Ubuntu though, so it's not so arduous
to get it going. I've built SVN before (back when 0.5.x was alpha) and
the process is not too painful. There's just a lot of source data.

The two games (0.4.3 and 0.5.0) are completely different. You can't
bring any details of your old game over, although I suppose you could
hack save files. Even selling everything and then credit hacking is
meaningless because prices have shifted dramatically.
