I confirm the problem, but it is not a bug. I guess you're using a
separate /boot partition (as i do), so just move any file containg the
older version number 2.6.24-16 in its name to another partition (maybe
/tmp/) and do a 'dpkg --configure -a'. The problem is, there is not
enough diskspace to update the initrd...
