What version of Ubuntu were you using when you decided to upgrade to 8.04?
What is the output of sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
What is the output of apt-cache policy network-manager
You used update-manager to upgrade correct?
It looks as if everything has been fixed in your logs but i need the
output of these commands and the version question before i can say for sure.
