A slight off-topic, but maybe helpful note: If Kaffeine gives the "encrypted DVD" warning for every DVD, check if it's pointing to the right device file (/dev/dvd by default) in "Settings > xine Engine Parameters > media > dvd.device".
For some strange reason, my dvd devices were moved to "/dev/dvd2" and "/dev/dvdrw2", causing the above problem with Kaffeine.
