Public bug reported: I Use Hardy Heron 8.04 April 2008
I wanted to install a PSpice-Like electronic network simulator. So I found a program named Oregano and I installed it via Applications -> Add/Remove (I use Ubuntu German, so i was more likely in "Anwendungen" - "hinzufügen/entfernen") and it didn't work at all. If the concept of Add/Remove goes also with this program, the result was unexpected. So I had to install GnuCaps and Spice-Compiler in order to make Oregano work. Furthermore Oregano reports, that it does not have the right models in order to calculate the result. So what I expect what should happen is: - I install Oregano via Add/Remove - either Add/Remove suggest to add other programs in order to run the desired application or it does it automatically, as it does propably if other programs are installed - I can open Oregano, draw an electronic circuit out of the scratch and the simulation can run immediately. This would be the ideal process. However, Ubuntu does it's job VERY well, so this is more a suggestion, than a bug! Thank you all for providing such a great OS!
