the is some comments upstream indicating that they don't change the
formatting when you use reply on purpose because they have no reason to
break the original layout, could you open the bug on bugzilla.gnome.org
if you really think that's an issue? there is no reason for ubuntu to
change this beaviour in a distribution specific way
