Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: synaptic
I took my desktop to another place and installed several programs in the
other operating system parition (non unix-based OS). When I came back
home and booted from the new kernel entry in grub, 2.6.24-17-server,
(this I took from uname -a, don't know why it says server), I could hear
no sound, and the mixer icon in the top menu had the mute white cross.
So I clicked it and the error box in the attachment showed up.
If I choose to boot from previous kernel in grub options, then
everything works. What is going on? What should I do to reconfigure the
sound card?
