** Summary changed:
- "Reset formatting" should be a toggle
+ Formatting should be restored after a paste
** Description changed:
- Binary package hint: gaim
-
- When you paste text from a website or whatever, which is in a different
- font style, subsequent messages remain in the same style. I have
- *never* ever wanted this. Invariably, I send a few more messages with
- the "stolen" font, realize it's been changed, and use the Reset
- formatting button to clear it. From my perspective, this button
- shouldn't even exist, and the default functionality should be to reset
- the formatting after each message is sent. But I'm sure some people use
- it for something, so the button should behave as a toggle:
-
- * In the default configuration, it resets formatting after each message is
sent.
- * In the toggled configuration, it keeps formatting from one message to the
next.

+ When pasting formatted text, the formatting is preserved, which is fine.
+ However, once the message is sent (or if the entire text buffer is
+ deleted), the formatting for the next message should be reset back to
+ what it was before (not the default formatting either though) instead of
+ sticking.
