I dont think this is a bug. If you want the extra grub options to go away, uninstall the extra kernels.
You can try `sudo apt-get autoremove` The original kernel when you first installed may not get removed this way. If thats the case, you will have to `sudo apt-get remove kernel- image-version` where the version you have to find yourself. Using the tab key can be quite helpful in finding that version.
