Public bug reported:
Using hardy-proposed, local sound works only on newer thin clients (like
the small Via systems or my laptop booting over the network) but not on
earlier computers (Celeron 400, PI 300 vintage). In the latter case,
the first application to access sound is played on the server and
subsequent applications are silent. Even the server becomes unable to
play its own audio.
When I test through "Sound Preferences" (both on the server and on the
thin client) I get the message:
audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample !
gconfaudiosink: Failed to connect: Connection refused
