Public bug reported:
I am observing a large memory leak in Xorg which is neither due to unfreed
pixmap memory (it stays low)
Monitoring 25 clients. XErrors: 0
Pixmaps: 7206K total,
nor dissapears when I close the application which causes it (in this case, I
can trigger it with google earth, which becomes unusable after 1 minute because
linux starts swapping).
This happens both with and without compiz.
The result after running (and "using") google earth for one minute:
7702 root 20 0 856m 455m 97 20 S 4.3 22.7 1:28.16 Xorg
The only way I can get my system usable again is by restarting Xorg.
Xorg gradually eats away my memory to the point of inusability even
without google earth.
I am using an intel gm 945 graphics card:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS,
943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
with the default repos driver.
The problem does not seem to be related to

or
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/101943
