Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cfs

I recently upgraded [in quick stages] from Dapper to Hardy. I've just
tried to mount my CFS share, and it fails with the error "RPC: Unable to
receive". This is with the latest version of CFS.

I see a reference here [http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=366929] to a similar problem in Debian, but no
resolution.

I notice also that it doesn't matter if I mistype my passphrase; I get
the same error, rather than an error about the passphrase mismatch.

I tried running "sudo /etc/init.d/cfsd restart". That made my system
unresponsive for about a minute each time I did it, and gave only this
output:

"Restarting Cryptographic File System daemon:
Stopping Cryptographic File System daemon: start-stop-daemon: warning: failed
to kill 8996: No such process
1 pids were not killed
No process in pidfile `/var/run/cfs.pid' found running; none killed.
cfsd.
Starting Cryptographic File System daemon: cfsd."

It seems that the lack of responsiveness was likely the result of memory
pressure. I saw [running top] that exportfs was taking as much as 76% of
my memory, and say kswapd get active as well. In /var/log/messages, I
see this [from 3 attempts at the cfsd restart]:

May 18 16:55:07 Slick kernel: [ 4469.121951] exportfs[8998]: segfault at
