Public bug reported:
When installing Ubuntu 8.04 from cd-rom (downloaded from website today)
to Windows to run Ubuntu as a program in windows, the cd hangs after the
creation of the image file.
here's what happens step by step:
I selected 4GB installation on my c-drive (which has 50GB of free space
available), set the username and password.
The installation checked the installationfiles, and calculated the checksum,
started creating a 733 megabytes image-file
At the end it stopped and gave me a popup saying:
"Could not access the CD, please make sure other applications are not using it,
and try again"
When I press "try again" the same scene happens (tried this up 'till 5 times)...
If I select "cancel" the installation cancels...
I tried this on 2 vaio notebooks, one with winXP SP3 (MCE2002) version,
and the other with windows Vista. Both gave me the same error.
