Also, it would be interesting to see if Flash could be the cause. Try a 'mv ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so.bak', restart Firefox, and try it again. Then to restore the Flash plugin do 'mv ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so.bak ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so'.
