The å shows up fine in large print, but with the standard GTK font size (like in the installer, the help, Firefox, and so on) the ring is not a ring, but a half ring. If I remember correctly, the å showed up fine in Courier, but when I typed it in the font was something similar to DejaVu Sans (or whatever the default sans serif font is), and it did not show up correctly.
