Thank you for reporting this issue. Please could you update us on your
situation - is this still a problem for you?
The SMART logs would be very useful, as would any information you could
provide about your hardware setup (type of interface, make/model of disk
drive and computer, etc)
If the hardware itself is faulty, then there is probably not a lot that
can be done at the software level as the data itself is probably
corrupted.
It may also be worth trying a different data cable for the drive in
question.
