Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xgl
Hardy, xserver-xgl, nvidia-glx-new (currently 169.12) Try to change screen resolution, either via nvidia-settings or gnome-display-properties, and get back an error. nvidia-settings says it's not the nvidia driver. gnome-display-properties says the server doesn't support XRandR. You can change the screen resolution by saying DISPLAY=:0 nvidia-settings or of course gnome-display-properties. However, the window manager and gnome theming are on display :1, so the windows are undecorated and unthemed, and apps seem not to notice that the resolution has changed (for example avant-window-navigator becomes offscreen if I reduce resolution.) ** Affects: xserver-xgl (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- can't change screen resolution from GUI after xserver-xgl install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238064 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
