Let's be clear: the problem is not with the medibuntu repositories, but the symptoms might be more pronounced when using those repositories.
Here's another temporary work-around for the people who don't use the medibuntu repositories: Go to System -> Administration -> Software Sources Select a different mirror Update When the problem returns, try switching repositories again.
