Output is choppy when playing mono wav files. See examples at http://www.kakadu-usa.com/, a vendor of an advanced series of doorbells that use digitized sounds. Progress slider in Totem Movie Player 2.20.0 moves smoothly, but sound comes out in chunks, at about a 50% duty cycle, modulated at about a 1 Hz rate. In other words, the player produces sound for 0.5 second, then silence for 0.5 second, etc. Player reports the file as Uncompressed 16-bit PCM audio, Mono, 18000 Hz sample rate. Codecs for Quicktime movies were recently installed, but I don't know if this is related.
