If a gtk menu pops up and the program goes to sleep, then the whole desktop freezes. I modified a python gtk program available here: http://www.pygtk.org/pygtk2tutorial/examples/menu.py The attached program has been slightly modified to sleep in the callback when the button is pressed. I expect this one application to become unresponsive. Instead, the entire desktop hangs (like how Windows hangs!). So if a (buggy) app does some infinitely blocking operation, then I have to restart my session. I think this is a serious problem. Please investigate.
