I have small trivial bash script that executes cryptsetup luksOpen + mount when I run it from xterm or VT it works but, if it is executed from rcS.d on bootup, then the password is not hidden and is visible when inputting it. Another problem with password prompt on bootup is bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cryptsetup/+bug/203683 where the prompt disappear completely. This is important bug since unaware user will just enter entire password and it will be visible on screen. ** Affects: cryptsetup (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- does not hide the password passphrase that is inputed when executed from rcS.d on boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238086 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
